10 Essentials for Your Summer Beach Trip

With summer now in full swing, it’s time again for family, friends, and sun. The kids are out of school and ready to hit the sand. So, what should you bring on your family beach trip? We can’t predict everything you’ll need, but make sure you include these 10 essentials!

Sunscreen

We know you probably want to catch some rays, but make sure you do it responsibly! Use sunscreen with a high SPF to make sure you get the most protection possible. The CDC recommends you reapply every two hours and after swimming, sweating, or toweling off. Stay vigilant to keep that sunburn away!

Beach towel

Going to the beach is awesome, but what isn’t awesome is bringing the beach back home with you. Make sure you bring a beach towel or blanket to keep the sand away from you and your things. This will help reduce the cleanup needed later since you will avoid tracking as much sand back to your house. Make sure to also bring another towel to dry off if you decide to get into the water.

Music

No beach day is complete without some tunes! If you are going to a secluded beach where you will not bother anyone, bring that speaker and crank up the volume! If you are going to a more crowded beach or one where you will be close to other beachgoers, bring some earbuds so that you can rock out to your favorite jam in peace. Before playing music out loud, make sure to check for any applicable noise regulations in your area and just use common sense so you don’t disturb anyone.

Sunglasses

That bright summer sun can hurt your eyes. Especially if you are going to be out for a couple hours, it is very important to take the proper precautions. Glasses may have different levels of UV protection, so make sure to check out your specs and verify that they will block as much UV light as possible!

Click & Carry

You probably saw this one coming, but it couldn’t be more true! Use your Click & Carry to help you transport all the other things on this list out to the sand. That way, you can bring everything (or more of it) at once instead of having to make several trips. No one wants to struggle back and forth across the hot sand a bunch of times to get all their equipment out to the beach, so put your Click & Carry to the test! It can carry up to 80 pounds of your beach essentials!

Water

Being outside all day in the sun can be dehydrating. Beat the heat and make sure to bring plenty of water.

To be more eco-friendly, consider bringing some reusable bottles and refill them next time you take a beach trip.

Lunch

If you decide to hit the beach for an extended period of time, eventually you’re going to get hungry! Some sandwiches and veggies can be great for taking off the edge. If your beach is near a boardwalk, there are probably some food stands and restaurants where you can have your pick of different types of food.

Throwable Activities

Walking down most beaches, it can seem like everybody is throwing something around. If your beach allows it and there is enough space, bringing something to throw with your friends or family can make for a fun afternoon. Whether it’s a Frisbee™, football, ladderball, or cornhole, people love to throw things on the sand. Think about what might be best based on the physical abilities and interests of whoever you are going with and see if there is anything you might want to throw!

Umbrella

We’ve already mentioned several sun protection items on this list, but that’s because it’s so important! Bringing an umbrella will allow you to shade yourself from some of the strongest rays while still allowing you to enjoy the outside. Keep an eye out for any wind and make sure it doesn’t fly away!

Here’s a highly rated one on Amazon to consider.

Beach chairs

While some may choose to sit on the beach towel, others prefer more back support. Ask everyone ahead of time what they prefer and consider bringing along some beach chairs for those who want them. Check out the video to see how Click & Carry can help you bring them out to your spot!

While this certainly isn’t all you will need at the beach, these items should be a good starting point to pack for your beach trip. Make sure you are well prepared for whatever environment you are going into, and have fun! Use your Click & Carry to help you with your bags, and send us some pictures when you do!
