You can watch us on season 12, episode 8 of Shark Tank using major streaming platforms including Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, YouTube TV, Google Play Movies, fuboTV, etc. CNBC also plays reruns of our episode from time to time, so keep an eye on your local TV listings!

What was the most surprising part of your Shark Tank experience?

The sheer number of people in the room during filming was shocking. Between the Sharks, executive producers, sound engineers, cinematographers, casting agents, and other crew, there were around 300 people there while I did my pitch!!

How did you make yourself stand out in the audition process?

Click & Carry speaks for itself! It’s a unique product that solves an unmet need, and everybody can relate to the experience of trying to carry all their grocery bags at once. I was also able to demonstrate how Click & Carry can help with other annoying cargo like travel luggage, buckets, paint cans, dry cleaning, and more. It’s always been my goal to be on Shark Tank, so I was also able to express how excited I was to possibly be on the show!

Describe the most impactful moment for you during the filming of your episode and why it was important?

The coolest moment for me was when Barbara Corcoran and Lori Greiner came up to test out the product. When Barbara used Click & Carry to haul a bunch of heavy bags using her shoulder, her face said it all - she was hooked! This moment gave Click & Carry instant credibility with the other Sharks and was crucial to sealing the deal.

How has your personal life changed since appearing on Shark Tank?

One of the best parts of Shark Tank that nobody talks about is the instant group of friends that you make with fellow entrepreneurs who have also been on the show. We have an amazing network with hundreds of Shark Tank alumni across our Facebook Group, LinkedIn Group, and annual in-person reunions. I also have weekly video calls with 10+ companies where we all help each other out, swap advice, and support each other. I’ve made some of my best friends through Shark Tank and wouldn’t trade it for anything!

How long were you actually in the tank during the filming of the episode?

While the segment that aired was cut down to just a little over eight minutes, I was in front of the Sharks for close to an hour. It takes a long time! I reported to the set in Las Vegas at 10 AM on the day of filming and couldn’t leave until 7 PM. Most of that time was preparation and waiting. I didn’t actually step into the Tank until around 6 PM!

What was your favorite reaction or comment from a Shark during the show?

You can see the moment here!

How many times did you audition for Shark Tank?

I auditioned 7 times to get on Shark Tank! It’s my FAVORITE show!

What does a Shark Tank audition entail?

You can audition in person at an open casting call or you can submit a video audition. Due to COVID-19, all auditions were video submissions the year I made it into the tank. If there is interest in you or your product, you’re asked to fill out a lengthy questionnaire (~30 pages!) and submit a second video answering Shark Tank suggested questions. Then, if you’re selected, you are assigned two producers who work with you weekly to polish your pitch. Finally, if you’re still in the running, you are invited to Sony Studios for an orientation and a “mock pitch” session. At this point, the executive producers decide if you’re going to make it to air. If you’re one of the lucky few selected to air, you receive a call time in a couple of days. It’s a long journey, but now that I’m on the other side, it was worth all of the hard work and effort. The day I filmed was both one of the BEST days and SCARIEST days of my whole life.

How much time did you have to prepare prior to your Shark Tank air date? (12/11/2020)

I received an email three weeks prior to the air date. I had so much to prepare for the show including hiring a 3PL (3rd Party Logistics – Distribution Center) and setting up a postage service. We also had to update my website to ensure that we could handle the heavy traffic (and look appealing in the process). I had to do a large amount of PR work for interviews, podcasts and articles. In May 2020, I was told that ABC purchased my episode, but Shark Tank was able to film in quarantine in September of 2020 so I assumed my episode would be bumped. Thank goodness it aired – it was a delightful Christmas surprise!

What were you most nervous about?

First, I was nervous that my episode would be bumped. I worked so long and hard for my episode to not get on air. Once I was told that the episode would be broadcast, my next concern was how it would be edited. In the end, I was absolutely thrilled with the way they told my story. It appeared that Lori Greiner went out of the deal early in the pitch, but she and Barbara Corcoran were both asking questions all the way until the end. We filmed for 50 minutes and only 8.5 minutes made it into the show. It was the longest 50 minutes of my life!
